The plaza has been a part of the city since the city of Málaga's Roman era, and has been operating as a town market place since at least the fifteenth century.La Malagueta Beach Playa de la Malagueta, in Malaga, is located between el Puerto de Malaga and playa de La Caleta.This beach gets its name from the neighbourhood, La Malagueta, located in the city centre. During the nineteenth century it was occupied by sugar factories, warehouses, shipyards and other industrial productions. At the end of the century they built the Hospital Noble and the Plaza de Toros, and it began the transformation into what is now the district of La Malagueta.This beach is one of many that were reclaimed on the Malaga coast.
